Prepare for New First Aid Requirements with Tailored Consultations to Develop Your First Aid Assessment

In anticipation of the new First Aid requirements, which take effect November 1, 2024, employers are encouraged to proactively understand, plan for, and implement necessary changes to their existing First Aid programs.

One key change is the requirement to complete a written First Aid assessment. WorkSafeBC has just released the new first aid assessment template, which is a critical component in determining the first aid equipment, supplies and facilities required in your workplace.

To support in this transition, go2HR is pleased to introduce tailored First Aid Consultations for tourism and hospitality employers. Schedule a personalized consultation to receive expert guidance on navigating the mandatory first aid assessment process, and to create a comprehensive action plan ahead of the November deadline.

First aid assessments can be complex and are required to consider a variety of business-specific operational factors, including:

  • WorkSafeBC assigned hazard ratings and typical industry activities
  • Number of workers onsite during any given time (i.e. day, evening, and night shifts)
  • Travel time and potential access barriers for ambulance personnel
  • Previous incident and injury data and trends
  • Locations of first aid kit, supplies, and equipment
  • Configuration and requirements of dressing stations and first aid rooms
  • The potential need for emergency transport vehicles and overnight care

With industry-specific knowledge and expertise, go2HR is with you every step of the way: from helping you to understand the new requirements and their implications on your business to implementing your updated First Aid program and procedural enhancements. Get a head start on meeting the new regulatory requirements by requesting your First Aid Consultation today.
