The Revelstoke Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce that we have received funding from the Economic Trust of the Southern Interior (ETSI-BC) to undertake a transformative Business Retention and Expansion (BRE) report. This initiative will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Revelstoke’s business community and driving sustainable economic growth across the region.
The BRE project is designed to engage directly with businesses throughout Revelstoke and the surrounding Columbia-Shuswap Regional District (CSRD Area B). By collecting real-time data through surveys, interviews, and focus groups, this initiative will provide valuable insights into the needs, challenges, and opportunities facing local businesses. These insights will guide targeted strategies to support economic resilience, workforce development, and community vitality.
“As a Chamber, we are deeply committed to supporting the businesses that make Revelstoke such a dynamic and innovative community,” said Caroline Lachapelle, Executive Director of the Revelstoke Chamber of Commerce. “The last time a Business Retention & Expansion (BRE) report was done in Revelstoke was in 2015 and we are due for updated data. This project will allow us to work closely with our business community to gather metrics that will ultimately support the development of actionable strategies that reflect their needs and aspirations.”
The $70,000 Revelstoke BRE report is expected to collect and analyze comprehensive data from close to 350 businesses. A project made possible through the support of ETSI-BC, Community Futures Revelstoke, the City of Revelstoke’s Community Economic Development department, and Tourism Revelstoke. The Chamber has also partnered with key stakeholders, including Indigenous Friendship Society of Revelstoke and Community Economic Development experts in the province, to ensure inclusivity and diversity throughout the process.
The final report will not only provide a snapshot of Revelstoke’s business landscape but also deliver strategic recommendations to foster economic sustainability. Findings will be shared with local, regional, provincial and federal governments, as well as the public.
