Revelstoke Chamber Launches Important Partnership with Okanagan College

Skills training is now live with the launch of the 2025 Summer Ambassador Program

The Revelstoke Chamber of Commerce has officially launched the 2025 Summer Ambassador Program. The most recent iteration of our local workforce attraction and retention program, that equips employees with the tools and skills to grow within the community and ultimately contribute to excellent visitor experiences.

This program was enhanced in Summer 2024 to include anyone who works in Revelstoke, no matter the sector they are working in. This also includes participants who are volunteering for local non profits on their board of directors, expanding accessibility to the numerous discounts and benefits the programs Ambassador Pass offers.

“As a resort municipality, Revelstoke’s visitor experience is shaped by more than just employees in traditional tourism roles. To reflect this, The Chamber updated eligibility to the Ambassador Pass portion of the program in the summer of 2024. Whether through a conversation, a service, or a recommendation, workers across all industries contribute to the overall impression visitors take away from Revelstoke.” says Revelstoke Chamber of Commerce CEO, Caroline Lachapelle.

The impact of this inclusivity can be seen in the programs’ numbers. Across 2024, the program welcomed over 550 participants, and the 2024/25 Winter program saw a 214% increase in benefit providers. The program consists of two core, short, self-paced online courses: A seasonally evolving “Revelstoke Knowledge” and “Customer Service Excellence”. Participants who complete both receive a Revelstoke Ambassador Pass, granting them access to over 20 discounts and benefits put forward by local Chamber businesses, helping them explore the community first hand and build confidence in sharing it with others.

New this year! The Chamber and Okanagan College have partnered to introduce ‘Career Skills for Success: Powered by Okanagan College’ to the Ambassador Program. The 8-module certificate supports Ambassador’s professional development through a variety of modules, including; organizational skills, time and stress management, and effective conflict resolution. This certificate is designed to grow workforce skills, boost confidence, and build career paths, adding more meaningful value for both employees and employers.

“Our new partnership with Okanagan College is a testament of our joint commitment to workforce attraction and retention in Revelstoke.” says Lachapelle.  “Many businesses have expressed the need for more opportunities for their staff to gain important career building skills. The Chamber and Okanagan College have been working on this partnership for over 18 months.” mentions Lachapelle.

The 2025 Summer Ambassador Program is now open, and runs until September 30th.

The Revelstoke Ambassador Program is made possible with funding from the Resort Municipality Initiative (RMI), which supports projects that enhance the tourism economy in resort communities like Revelstoke. The Revelstoke Chamber of Commerce deeply values our partnership with the City of Revelstoke’s Community Economic Development. Their support is helping to ensure this program can continue to grow for many years to come.
