Enhancing Accessibility: A New Opportunity for Revelstoke Businesses
The Revelstoke Chamber of Commerce is pleased to inform our local business community about the Accessible Attributes Project, an initiative designed to promote inclusivity within British Columbia's tourism sector.
Project Overview
The Accessible Attributes Project offers complimentary accessibility assessments for accommodations and attractions across the province. By participating, businesses can have their accessible features highlighted on their HelloBC listings, thereby attracting a broader range of visitors.
Accessibility assessments are opportunities to assess the degree to which a business is accessible and if interested, to provide some tips as to how it can be made more accessible. The assessment produces a report which highlights things done well by the business and identifies opportunities for improvement- it’s not a pass or fail type report. Improving accessibility allows more diverse patrons to access a business thereby expanding the potential for more clients to visit.
Benefits of Participation
- Assessments are provided free of charge.
- Accessible features will be showcased on HelloBC.com, enhancing your business's appeal to travelers seeking accessible options.
- Catering to visitors with disabilities opens your business to a growing and often underserved market segment.
Next Steps
We encourage all businesses to participate in this valuable program.
If you are interested in scheduling an assessment, please feel free to contact Nancy at 1-250-613-2270 or at NHarris@sci-bc.ca
Let's work together to make Revelstoke a more inclusive destination for all visitors!
