Journeyperson Plumber for New Build Construction
ABOUT THE ROLE
Do you like mountain views, a fun work environment, and keeping your hands (mostly) clean ONLY working on new construction with no messy service calls?!
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Journeyman Plumber with hands-on experience in new build construction to join our growing team. This role spans a range of project types from high-end custom homes to multi-family residential and commercial builds and requires someone who takes pride in quality workmanship, can read and execute from drawings, and works well within a coordinated trades environment. Candidates with additional experience in HVAC and mechanical systems are strongly encouraged to apply. Cross-trade versatility is an asset and will be reflected in compensation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- - Install, rough-in, and finish plumbing systems for new build custom homes, multi-family residential projects, and light commercial construction
- - Read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and project specifications
- - Install drain, waste, and vent systems, supply lines, and fixture connections in accordance with applicable codes
- - Coordinate with site foremen, general contractors, and other trades to ensure plumbing work aligns with project timelines and sequencing
- - Conduct pressure testing, inspections, and commissioning of completed plumbing systems
- - Ensure all work meets or exceeds provincial plumbing code requirements and passes municipal inspections
- - Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area on active construction sites
- - Accurately document work completed, materials used, and any site variances or change orders
- - Mentor apprentices and support their on-the-job development where applicable
- - (Bonus) Install, rough-in, or service HVAC and mechanical systems
QUALIFICATIONS
- - Journeyman Plumber certification (Red Seal designation preferred)
- - Minimum 3–5 years of field experience in new build construction plumbing
- - Demonstrated experience across at least two of: custom residential, multi-family, or light commercial project types
- - Strong working knowledge of applicable plumbing codes (National Plumbing Code of Canada and/or provincial equivalent)
- - Ability to read and work from construction drawings, shop drawings, and specifications
- - Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation
- - Comfort working in an active construction environment with multiple concurrent trades on site
NICE TO HAVE
- - Gasfitter certification (Class B)
- - HVAC/R or refrigeration trade certificate or equivalent field experience
- - Experience with hydronic heating systems, in-floor radiant heat, or mechanical rooms
- - Familiarity with digital site coordination tools
- - First Aid / WHMIS / Site Safety certifications
