Position Summary:

As the Child Care Center Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of our childcare center. You will be responsible for ensuring a safe, welcoming, and educational environment for children while maintaining effective communication with parents, staff, and the community. Your leadership and management skills will contribute to the success of our programs and the well-being of the children in our care.


Key Responsibilities:

Program Management: Conceptualize, execute, and oversee developmentally appropriate curricula and activities that facilitate comprehensive growth encompassing social, cognitive, physical, and emotional dimensions.

Staff Leadership: Spearhead a team of passionate childcare professionals by offering guidance, bolstering support, and administering continuous training. Cultivate a positive and collaborative workplace culture conducive to professional advancement.

Health and Safety: Uphold a secure and hygienic environment for children by strictly adhering to safety protocols, health benchmarks, and Licensing standards. Conduct routine safety assessments and ensure seamless execution of emergency procedures.

Parent Communication: Forge rapport with parents and guardians through robust communication channels. Address their inquiries, furnish regular updates on their child's progress, and fortify a constructive partnership.

Administrative Tasks: Oversee administrative duties such as licensing requisites, attendance monitoring, and meticulous record-keeping. Guarantee meticulous documentation and reporting to meet licensing compliance.

Attend weekly management meetings to discuss enrolment updates, centre operations, challenges, and strategic planning. Monthly board meetings [attendance optional] to keep up to date on program implementation, financials and organizational goals.

Deliver prepared programming, snacks and seasonal items & risk management items to respective center for staff to utilize for programming.

Maintain the upkeep and cleanliness of daily gear and Thule's equipment, conducting regular inspections and scheduling maintenance as needed to ensure safety and efficiency.

Community Engagement: Foster collaborative ties with local educational institutions, organizations, and community stakeholders to enrich the center's offerings and cultivate community connections.

Professional Development: Remain abreast of cutting-edge practices in early childhood education, management, and industry dynamics. Participate in relevant workshops, webinars, and training sessions to continually elevate program quality.

Programming: The Program Manager plays a key role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality, engaging, and developmentally appropriate activities for children. This includes actively communicating with the Operations/Program Manager to ensure that age- appropriate toys, tools, and crafts are available to support a dynamic and enriching environment.


Compensation: $23/ hour

Required Availability: 

Weekly Monday meetings [1030 - 1130AM] 

12 Flexible Management hours/ week
5 days facilitating at program/ week [2-6PM]


As the primary educator within their program, the Program Manager is expected to lead by example, setting a high standard for both staff and children. This includes demonstrating best practices in facilitating play, guiding staff on how to introduce and lead games, effectively communicate expectations, and establish clear and supportive boundaries. They act as the go-to person for staff, fostering an environment of learning and growth by providing mentorship, feedback, and hands-on support. By modeling inclusive, engaging, and structured programming, the Program Manager ensures that the program remains well- rounded, welcoming, and enriching for all participants.
