Carpenter
Good Way Homes is seeking an experienced, reliable Carpenter to oversee construction operations and join our field team. This role is ideal for a skilled carpenter who excels in leadership, problem-solving, and managing day-to-day site activities while maintaining high-quality workmanship. The Carpenter will play a key role in coordinating tasks, ensuring safety compliance, and supporting the successful progression of our residential and modular construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise carpenters, apprentices, and labourers during weekend shifts.
- Coordinate daily tasks, delegate responsibilities, and ensure work is completed efficiently
- Perform advanced carpentry work, including framing, layout, installations, and finishing.
- Read and interpret construction drawings and project specifications.
- Oversee site safety, enforce WorkSafe BC regulations, and conduct toolbox meetings.
- Communicate with site supervisors and project managers regarding progress and issues
- Ensure proper use of tools, equipment, and materials.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site at all times.
- Troubleshoot on-site challenges and provide practical solutions.
- Train, mentor, and support apprentices and junior team members.
- Assist with quality control, inspections, and ensure all work meets company standards.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of carpentry experience, including strong framing and finishing skills.
- Proven ability to lead site teams and coordinate construction tasks.
- Strong understanding of residential and/or modular construction practices.
- Ability to read and interpret detailed drawings and plans.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
- Close attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Physically capable of lifting 50–75 lbs and working in varying weather conditions.
- Valid driver’s license and transportation to job sites.
