BC Interior Forestry Museum Operations Manager

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join the team at the Revelstoke Forestry Museum. Managing the day-to-day operations of the museum, this position reports to the Museum Board of Directors.


Roles and Responsibilities:

➢Managing all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the museum, gift shop and grounds

➢Maintaining and developing museum collections and archives

➢Assisting the Board with development of museum policies and procedures

➢Hiring, supervising, and coaching staff as needed

➢Managing grants and projects that have been approved by the Board

➢Assisting the Board with budgets and financial controls

➢Organizing museum programs and fundraising events

➢Liaising with our partners in tourism, forestry and education and continuing to support tour growing presence in the community

➢Greeting and interacting visitors while ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for guests and staff

➢Attends board and committee meetings; and produces a monthly written report to the board


Qualifications

➢Minimum 4 years of management experience

➢Self starter with Functional Self-Management and Problem-Solving skills

➢Strong administrative skills, proficiency with MS Office and Google Workspace

➢Excellent communication skills, oral and written

➢Experience with grant writing and budgeting

➢Project Management and leadership skills

➢An enthusiasm and interest in the history and current management of BC forestry. 


References will be required. 

This is a Seasonal Position: a minimum of 35 hours/week at $30/hour for 6 months May through October. Flexible part-time hours in the off season. Think of all those pow days.  


Closing Date: March 31st, 2025, at 4:00pm 

Start Date: Full-time hours starting between mid-April and May 1st, depending on the successful applicant’s availability.
