Community

The City of Revelstoke Vision as written in the Official Community Plan Bylaw No. 2332 identifies the community priorities “Personal and community economic growth and stability, and a responsive and caring social support system”. 

Diverse Local Economy is defined as supporting a diversified local economy when faced with increasing growth is one strategy to help ensure that local residents continue to thrive and have equitable opportunities to find economic fulfillment in Revelstoke. 

The following goals will help our community realize our shared vision:  

  1. Resilient industries
  2. Invest in local businesses and entrepreneurship
  3. Attract, retain, and support a skilled workforce

Community is defined as those people living and interacting in the greater Revelstoke area (City of Revelstoke and Area B of the Columbia Shuswap Regional District). 

The commission intends to participate in the achievement of economic growth, diversification and stability of Revelstoke and area. 

The mandate of the RAEDC is to provide Revelstoke and CSRD Area B with advice and recommendations with respect to achieving the objectives of economic growth and stability and the economic goals outlined above.
