Description

Experience an exhilarating night during the final evening of the Banff Mountain Film Festival. In "Soundscape," global adventure athlete Erik Weihenmayer, fully blind, ascends a massive alpine rock face in the Sierra Nevada. "The Blackcountry Journal" explores the connection between skiing, jazz, and black culture as a skier's journey takes a transformative turn in L.A. "Georgia Astle: Flip The Switch" follows freerider Georgia Astle exploring British Columbia's stunning landscapes. "Canada Vertical (Tour Edit)" documents a remarkable wilderness expedition involving skiing, canoeing, and biking across challenging terrains. "Leo & Chester" tells the story of a rock star who turns his back on the industry to live with a herd of buffalo. "Earthside" captures the Arctic expedition of Hilaree Nelson, Emily Harrington, Christina Lustenberger, and Brette Harrington, celebrating their journey above the Arctic Circle. "Near The River" focuses on aspiring safety kayakers in Livingstone, Zambia, facing the threat of the Batoka Gorge Hydroelectric Scheme. Lastly, "El Gavilán" unravels the mystique of a 900 ft limestone ship's prow in the Mexican desert, rediscovered by two adventurous Canadian women.
